100 Days Project

Marie: And yet another story!

It seems to be a trait of the elderly to tell stories and often repeat the same stories. As our family has a major Reunion in February 2015 I will tell a family story each day and NOT repeat it for 100 days. I will use christian names from our earlier generations as pseudonyms.

And, so it would happen occasionally, that the household wasn't functioning quite as Mum expected it to be functioning, and she would start by saying, "I'm building up!"  "I'm going to blow!"  "Change, or you'll get it, and THAT INCLUDES  YOU TOO DAD!"  A few days later she'd blow her top and we'd all shrink away humiliated and ready to improve our behaviour.  Well, that's not quite true, as Dad and I would react in exactly the same way and get more and more hurt as the days went by. We were the ones who just couldn't let it go.  Finally, Mum would blow for the second time saying, "I've said my piece! Now it's over and done with and finished!  SO STOP THIS MOPING!!"

The End.  What a party!  For dear Mum and Dad with thanks.

Day 100:

100) Last word has to be from Mum!
