Because we were a big family and we were all learning the piano, we had very strict practice times. Kerry the oldest would start about 6am followed by the next eldest and so on till school time, with the younger children having their practice times after school. Kerry was a brilliant pianist and so we would wake up every day of our lives to his piano playing. If he practised to Mum's satisfaction (a reminder that she was a music teacher) he would be allowed to play modern songs from the radio. To Mum's great joy, she always said that her children woke up and began their morning routines, singing, smiling and humming. In fact there was very little arguing or fighting in our family and maybe that was because of our peaceful tranquil mornings.
Marie: And yet another story!
It seems to be a trait of the elderly to tell stories and often repeat the same stories. As our family has a major Reunion in February 2015 I will tell a family story each day and NOT repeat it for 100 days. I will use christian names from our earlier generations as pseudonyms.
