There was a Catholic Priest called Father Payton who lead a world-wide rosary crusade under the slogan "The family who prays together stays together." Now, that was okay with our family as we always said the rosary (for some weird reason kneeling against chairs back the front) every night after dinner. Dad would be up the front by the fire, and Mum with her chair sideways to keep an eye on us. I'm sure it was our eldest brother who began letting the kittens in, and it wasn't long before the kittens began jumping up and trying to catch our rosary beads, which we were rhythmically swinging from side to side! It wouldn't take too long before we were spluttering with laughter and when Mum also couldn't suppress her giggles (which we loved to see!) Dad would suddenly explode with fury and stomp out of the room! So that would be the end of the rosary for that night!
Marie: And yet another story!
It seems to be a trait of the elderly to tell stories and often repeat the same stories. As our family has a major Reunion in February 2015 I will tell a family story each day and NOT repeat it for 100 days. I will use christian names from our earlier generations as pseudonyms.
