It's hard to believe how long it took us to become more generous spirited in this particular incident. We'd be in the bath, 2 or 3 of us (and only on a Saturday night) when Dad would come in from the cow shed to wash his lily white feet. We start screaming "Dad's got his feet in our bath!!" while Dad got more and more frustrated with his very stupid off spring and Mum would have to come in and sort us out and calm Dad down! Dad had thick gumboot socks and gumboots and was simply rinsing his tired, hot feet, but no, we seemed to think we had total control when it came to the bath water!
Marie: And yet another story!
It seems to be a trait of the elderly to tell stories and often repeat the same stories. As our family has a major Reunion in February 2015 I will tell a family story each day and NOT repeat it for 100 days. I will use christian names from our earlier generations as pseudonyms.
