We were staying at our Nanas farm where we were surrounded by aunts, uncles, cousins and heaps of love BUT we had to take turns with the other cousins and this particular time they were going to Auckland for the day and we'd been excluded as we were leaving for home the next day. I DID NOT sulk but boy I was VERY unhappy, and ran down the paddock to sit on the swing under the big old tree by the gate. Next minute I got stung by a bee and ran back to the house to Nana. It wasn't like me to cry over a bee sting and Nana didn't give me a second, but said "You're not crying about the bee sting you're sulking because you wanted to go to Auckland!" I was so very humiliated as she had caught me out and was right on target!!
Marie: And yet another story!
It seems to be a trait of the elderly to tell stories and often repeat the same stories. As our family has a major Reunion in February 2015 I will tell a family story each day and NOT repeat it for 100 days. I will use christian names from our earlier generations as pseudonyms.
