100 Days Project

Marie: And yet another story!

It seems to be a trait of the elderly to tell stories and often repeat the same stories. As our family has a major Reunion in February 2015 I will tell a family story each day and NOT repeat it for 100 days. I will use christian names from our earlier generations as pseudonyms.

Auntie Rita was actually our great Aunt and she always gave us thrupences (about 5c if that) so we thought she was pretty cool.  Our older brother Kerry was always there to help us and Mum around the house and we adored him..  No wonder this story  stays in our memories.  Auntie Rita made wonderful home made icecream (and we NEVER had icecream) so when our Auntie began to spoon the icecream onto the plates Kerry got up from the table to help her.  Oh dear!  She said to him "you greedy boy wanting the first plate now you are not going to have any!"  Poor Kerry was deeply insulted and never forgot this unfair incident.
