100 Days Project

Marie: And yet another story!

It seems to be a trait of the elderly to tell stories and often repeat the same stories. As our family has a major Reunion in February 2015 I will tell a family story each day and NOT repeat it for 100 days. I will use christian names from our earlier generations as pseudonyms.

We cousins had some wonderful times together usually boys separate from girls.  This particular day five of us were at our Aunties in town and somehow she let us free in her kitchen. <span 1.3;"="">We decided it would be great to make sweets and we settled on  fudge.  We had no idea of the temperature to use, so it boiled and bubbled until it went over the sides of the pot and all over the stove! Prior to that, we had each taken a turn at stirring the pot. As each of us took our turn we would get burnt by the boiling fudge  and move away for the next one to stir and yes!  That cousin also would move over because of her burnt hands.  The cleaning up of the stove and pot and kitchen bench took us ages especially with our sore hands and the burnt fudge didn't taste so good either!

Day 95:

95) Fudge making!
